The Opportunity
One of their largest Highways Bridges team is based in their Birmingham office and deals with all aspects of Bridge Maintenance and Design. The teams' capabilities include strategic asset management, assessment, maintenance, corrosion prevention and design for new construction. They have a vacancy for a Project Director who can lead the development of this team. This will include managing technical research work and consultancy work in this specialised area as well as supporting our internal business. A good understanding of management systems, risk management and material treatments and repair systems is essential. Responsibilities Main duties: Leading the various teams. Recruitment and development of staff. Leading business development including new areas of work. Developing relationships with key internal and external clients. Authorship and review of technical reports. Provision of specialist advice. Management and delivery of high quality project work. Compliance with Quality, Safety and Environmental procedures in accordance with our Business Management System. Requirements Qualifications: Technically excellent, a second degree in civil engineering or a related field would be an advantage. Chartered Engineer, Member of ICE, IStructE or equivalent. Experience: Proven track record either academically or within the industry. Managing teams of engineers. Proven communicator UK driving licence desirable.
