Our client is looking to appoint a Technician / Engineer within their Highways and Transportation business as part of Highways Services. You will provide network operational advice, planning and technical advice on planning applications, pre-planning application inquiries and associated highway mitigation schemes, as well as on design issues involved in a range of highway improvements. You will also;
· Prepare planning appeal and public inquiry statements
· Respond to land search enquiries
· Responding to enquiries from Highways Agency, Local Authorities, members of the public, Councillors and MP's
· Attendance at meetings with members of the public, developers, other Local Authority Officers and Council Members
· Undertake site surveys and site investigation works
· Regular reporting to client and third parties regarding scheme progress and financial issues
You will have a minimum HND /HNC qualification or equivalent in a relevant field be conversant in AutoCAD and have good knowledge of Highways Agency policy and design standards. Also knowledge of appropriate traffic modelling tools and TRIC, familiarity of Town & Country Planning and experience in DMRB and MCDHW.
