Job Description Atkins’ existing highway drainage and infrastructure team in Telford provides support to Optima Infrastructure Management (Tamworth) and a number of Atkins Highways and Transportation offices. We are expanding the team to extend our capability and to provide drainage support to other disciplines within Atkins. We are looking for a suitably experienced Civil Engineer to play a significant role in the management and delivery of highway drainage designs and to assist in the expansion of the team into other drainage areas including Rail. We have a number of interesting projects including schemes directly for the Highways Agency, let through the HA Safety Standards and Research Framework, for Atkins H&T offices and for Optima, the Highways Agency’s Area 11 MAC. The Highways Agency framework projects offer the opportunity to work at the leading edge of drainage system development and the production of emerging specifications and design guidance for insertion into the MCHW and DMRB. The team participate in Atkins’ Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Group and instigate the use of these systems into highway drainage. We are in the process of tendering several large Design and Build (D&B) projects in the UK and Ireland.
Requirements EssentialChartered Engineer (or equivalent) Technical experience of designing road drainage and associated measures Strong experience of Highways Agency procedures Windes modelling Desirable- Experience of HA216

- Experience of suitable Drainage techniques
