A leading international manufacturer of high quality technical products of various sectors of industry are looking for a Commercial Director in their construction division.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Commercial/Sales Manager working within the Construction or Building sector i.e. Heating/Plumbing/Cable Management etc, ideally with a Civil Engineering or Building Studies qualification, plastics or polymer background (not essential). You must be technically and commercial astute. Renewable Energy experience would be highly advantagous.
Location- Herefordshire & Worcestershire
Direct Reports: 10 heads including Marketers, Technical Engineers.
You will be responsible for promoting and driving existing product lines, developing new applications, and ensuring that the highest standards of support and service are provided to both our customers and our Sales force in each of these areas.
- Proactively build and maintain strategic relationships enabling a positive impact in the following key areas: - Bring innovation to improve our effectiveness and efficiency - Influence our customer's product solution strategy - Promotion of product offerings - Drive customer satisfaction activities, understanding the output and ensuring that appropriate action is taken to address issues and resolve problems, - Create attractive propositions to meet the customers' business needs. Feeding information on our customers' strategies back to Marketing to help shape our offerings in line with customer requirements. P&L £20m Person Spec - Qualified to degree level in either a Business-related or Engineering discipline - Experience of marketing technical components - ideally within a polymer-/plastics-related sector. - Solid background in either the construction and/or the building industry. - Commercially and technically astute - High level of business acumen and technical proficiency - Strong people manager with a background in developing/mentoring others - Outstanding communication skills, highly persuasive and influential in both negotiation and presentation. - Impressive track record of formulating and implementing commercial strategies within business critical environments - Experience of leading performance improvement programmes, creative, tenacious, pragmatic and delivery focussed.
Base Salary – £48,000 to £58,000 per annum+ Bonus Scheme (Performance based – 3 levels of progression, 10%, 20% and 30%) Pension – Stake Holder – Employer Contribution double Employee Contribution. Minimum employee contribution is 3%, Maximum employer contribution is 10%)+ Car – Cash Payment of £6,500 per annum+ Private Health Care – Free for Self
