An automotive OEM requires Sustainable Mobility Group Modelling & Simulation Engineer
General description
To work on a range of sustainable mobility projects as a member of the modelling and simulation team. Core responsibilities include: Development and maintenance of client vehicle models to support investigations into fuel economy, emissions, performance, driveability, and potentially other attributes. Plan and execute complex simulation studies to support concept and programme work using a variety of modelling techniques. Produce high quality reports including recommendations and evaluations of accuracy. Present findings to simulation team and applicable stakeholders. Work with other modelling and simulation teams to maintain consistency of approach. Support the lead modelling and simulation engineer to deliver tasks. Develop modelling and simulation techniques and processes to improve turnaround and accuracy. Liaise with other engineering groups to refine simulations, obtain data, and increase the working knowledge of the simulation team.
Duration: 12 month contract.
Key skills
Preferably engineering degree qualified or 5 years engineering experience. Substantive experience with the MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow modelling environments. A strong understanding of physical laws, and their mathematical representations. Excellent communication skills, with a temperament that suits working as part of a team whilst still delivering individual objectives on time. Ability to adapt to a given task, to adopt the most appropriate methods and techniques to a specific situation. Self-motivated and focused on task delivery. Ability to work consistently and productively whilst under pressure, and with competing priorities. Automotive experience and knowledge of sustainable mobility technologies is advantageous but not necessary. Positive outlook and good sense of humour is essential.
