An automotive OEM requires a Software Engineer Position Description: "Electrical Immobiliser and Electronic Steering column Lock Project engineer working within the Security and PEPS department analysing and resolving start authorisation and ESCL interaction issues on test rigs and vehicles. Working within a team to develop a fully integrated system that works with a core smart junction box. To lead the cross brand system strategy. Report directly to Security and PEPS manager Lead the design and development of the system, Lead the validation / verification and resolution activities, support the various build phases and quality fixes" Skills Required: "Ability to write engineering specifications (SRD, FAD, KFC) Ability to define messages and write software specification (SWRS) Ability to understand test scripts and state flow models Ability to read circuit diagrams, harness drawings and debug electrical faults Ability to understand electrical interfaces, Create Design verification methods and plans Ability to use CAN/ LIN tools would be an advantage Ability to communicate at all levels (engineers, suppliers) and engage in problem solving tasks" Experience Required: "Engineering experience ideally knowledge of CAN / LIN tools some experience in fault finding, testing and writing specifications. Ideally some knowledge of Security or Immobiliser systems" Education Required: Candidates must have a minimum of HNC/HND in relevant field, ideally educated to Degree level.
