Senior Performance Test Engineer

The company designs, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art products and systems to the power generation - for gas, coal, and hydro power plants - and industrial markets
Your Role is:
To join a team tasked with the application of the latest research and development to industrial steam turbines. As senior performance test engineer you will lead a team of test engineers on site with the task of carrying out performance calculations such as thermal performance tests on retrofitted steam turbines.
The job includes liaison with other parts of Alstom and with external organisations around the world therefore there will be overseas travel involved.
Main Tasks Include:
Senior Performance Test Engineer required to carry out thermal performance tests on retrofitted steam turbines.
Good knowledge of thermodynamics required for calculation and analysis of results, compilation of report
Lead team of test engineers/technicians carrying out the performance tests on site
Represent the companies interests of in front of customer when agreeing of results Preparation of test procedures (in support of both tendering and contract activities)
Supervising the installation and calibration of specialist instrumentation as required
Programming and operation of computer controlled data logging systems
Generation and implementation of business development, process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Supervise and develop less experienced engineers
Required Skills:
Hopefully you will have degree level thermodynamic knowledge or equivalent as well as aerodynamic or thermodynamic testing experience

Hours of Work 37 hours per week.(flexi-time)
Holiday Entitlement 25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays – agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
