Morson International is proud to be working on behalf of a world leader in the design, development, manufacture, and sale of off-highway transmissions for Backhoe Loaders, Telescopic Material Handlers and 4 - 9 tonne Site Dumpers.

They currently have a requirement for a Research and Development Technician.
Location: Wolverhampton
Role Purpose:
- To play an integral role in the Engineering team
- To conduct technical investigation of current and future product, components, material and processes, in both laboratory and field environments.
Job Description:
The key responsibilities of this role will be:
- To support the build and test phases of NPI projects for the engineering department
- To design, build, program, commission and operate test rigs
- To set up and support field-testing of machines
- To bench-mark competitor’s products, and present the findings to the relevant departments
- To generate technical reports, and to present test results to the engineering department
- Instrumentation calibration
- Use of the 5s system in development areas
- To support the quality department with testing, analysing and replicating customer’s failures in the field.
Required Skills/ Experience:
- Strong experience within a hands on research/development role, preferably within the automotive industry
- A time-served apprenticeship
- Educated to HNC/ONC level in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, engines and transmissions
Salary: £19,731-£24,663 (dependant on experience)
Duration: Permanent
