An automotive OEM requires a Process Engineer
Position Description:
This role will be responsible for the application solutions for Sealant & Adhesive content (Inc baffles and tapes) for Model year projects or future model introduction at client body construction sites. Reporting directly to the manager, Facilities & Joining Technology, Body Construction, AME.
Skills Required:
The key interface between Man Eng and Product Development for sealants to meet the engineering requirements & defined targets. Provide coaching, guidance & assistance to AME process engineers & vendors throughout the life of the project. Provide assistance in feasibility studies for new materials, applications and technologies. Ownership of the Sealant buyoff tools & implementation including final handover to manufacturing. Manage all water leak, equivalent body whole size (EBHS) and sealant related issues through to resolution. Manage and resolve all sealant / adhesive application related AIMs for body construction projects. Deliver Bead manuals to plant teams based on PD eng sealant manual information. Must be PC literate with a good working understanding of Microsoft office tools.

Problem solving and accurate reporting skills are essential
Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will have substantive experience in either Process Engineering or a Product Development type role, with proven project management experience in vehicle construction programs. A sound engineering and manufacturing background. Experience dealing with multi functional teams with good communications skills (both written & verbal) are essential. An understanding of Material Health & safety, Coshh, Ford GMAP systems and skills in Catia or 4DNav as well as the new Group product development system (GPDS) would be of benefit. The role demands a self starting individual with a dynamic and flexible mind set.
Experience Preferred:
A good working understanding of static and dosed sealer 'dispenser systems auto and manual and an understanding of the implications of using 1 or 2 pack sealer materials.
Education Required:
A relevant engineering degree and / or relevant experience is essential, as would time served in Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development or Production related roles.
