Naval Engineer needed for steam turbine design department - based in Rugby
Our Client is a global leader in the world of power generation and sets the benchmark for innovative and environmentally friendly technologies. The company designs, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art products and systems to the power generation - for gas, coal, and hydro power plants - and industrial markets
Your Role is:
This person would perform either layout design and/or design analysis on steam turbine components. This would involve the definition of component specifications and materials, stress analysis of steam turbine components using in-house computer programs, spreadsheets and hand calculations, or layout design using CATIA. Design for manufacture and installation is a critical aspect. R&D projects involving the design of new components or failure investigations could also be part of the work.
Requirements
Hopefully you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant subject. Knowledge of powerplants Hopefully you will have design experience in a medium to heavy industry e.g designing oil rigs, pumps, compressors or turbines. Ideally you will have experience working in a design office producing mechanical designs Systems design experience Experience of Unix. knowledge of Thermodynamics or Rotor dynamics would be advantageous The Ideal candidate will be Flexible, not too specialised and eager to produce mechanical designs from start to finish Experience of CATIA would be useful

Salary Details depends on experience
Hours of Work 37 hours per week.(flexi-time)
Holiday Entitlement 25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays – agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
