Mechanical Integrity and Design Group Head- Blading group

Your Role
To lead and develop the mechanical design and mechanical integrity activities of the Blading Department. This will include static and dynamic analysis using commercial and in-house tools. This position will be based in Rugby, with some travel principally to Europe
Main tasks Include:
Leadership of the Mechanical Integrity and Design Group.
Development of members of the department, the tools they use and methods of working. The technical quality of the output of the group.
Day to day running of the group, control of budget, staff appraisals, etc.
Requirements:
Knowledge of turbomachinary stress analysis and design.
Competent in finite element modelling and analysis involving 3-D components, static and dynamic analysis and contact modelling (ABAQUS, SC03 etc).
Familiar with CAD and design packages and processes.
Competent in structural lifetime and dynamic assessment methods (e.g. LCF, HCF) and familiar with material and component failure processes.
Application of mechanical design experience to component design and analysis.
General knowledge of turbomachinery and turbomachinery components, particularly blading. Good problem solving skills.
General and man management skills. General project management skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Salary Details Salary negotiable (cannot advertise I am sorry so please call to find)
Hours of Work 37 hours per week.(flexi-time)
Holiday Entitlement 25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays - agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
