An automotive OEM requires an Electrical Systems Engineer
Position Description:
The successful candidate will work within the Navigation Systems team in Electrical Engineering to deliver the next generation navigation platform & in-cycle enhancements to current navigation platforms, in support of Client vehicle cycle plan. This will include the following key responsibilities: - Monitoring and completion of project deliverables are according to client programme requirements & within GPDS framework. Generation of functional requirements and use cases leading to development of technical specifications hardware & software. Management and liaison with both tier 1 & tier 2 suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to target costs. Liaise closely with VCC, Programme teams, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing Plants, other engineering areas etc. Conduct Design Verification Planning, testing & sign-off activities. Component drawing & BOM release via WERS.
Skills Required:
Good project management & communication skills. Design and development of Electrical & Electronic systems/ Software design. Ability to confidently interact with all levels of management & staff.
Skills Preferred:
Experience in development of automotive Infotainment System products would be beneficial. Knowledge/experience of MOST communications protocol.
Experience Required:
Minimum of five years experience in electrical/electronic system development
Experience Preferred:
The successful candidate shall be a self motivated and enthusiastic individual with sound judgement & discipline. Able to work well within a team environment and be able to manage work tasks to an agreed plan, with minimal supervision. Knowledge/experience of FMC Processes and Procedures - i.e. WERS, eFDVS process. Ford GPDS project management process & milestones would be advantageous.
Education Required:
The successful candidate will be educated to Degree/Masters level in Electrical or Automotive Engineering
