Our client a global automotive electronics company are looking for a CAD Designer to joining the Design and Development Department in Coventry.
The D&D department is directly responsible for the development and design of wire harness distribution systems in line with the customer’s requirements. This includes the production of the physical routing of the EDS system on 3D CAD and the production of the 2D wire harness drawings and installation sketches which are used to make the actual harness.
The general purpose of this role is to:
• Design wire Harness within a 3D CAD environment, working within the full vehicle data model, utilising I-DEAS 3D CAD tools.
• Establish best design solutions before implementation of these in the 3D CAD model with developmental engineers.
• Prepare wire harness drawings utilising manual and automated data transfer tools for conversion of 3D model data and electrical circuitry into wire harness manufacturing drawings.
• Design change implementation control including verification of accuracy of inputted data (2d, 3d or other).
• Follow TS16494 process and procedure for data management and work process.
• Provide support for general development activity.
Successful candidate will be educated in an Engineering Degree with experience in 3D design for the automotive industry. In addition to this you will need previous knowledge with I-DEAS, Catia V5 and wire harness drawings.
