Vibration Engineer
Our Client is a global leader in the world of power generation and sets the benchmark for innovative and environmentally friendly technologies. The company designs, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art products and systems to the power generation - for gas, coal, and hydro power plants - and industrial markets
Your Role
To Provide vibration measurements from component testing or full-size machinery operation, either within the test labs at Rugby or other Alstom or customers sites.
Main Tasks Include:
Perform vibration measurements from component testing or full-size machinery operation
Testing of rotating machinery
face-to-face contact with customers on a technical and semi-commercial level
Project management/leadership – initially small packages of work
Test specification – Generated from the customer or business partners requirements
Instrumentation specification – Development of a process or design to achieve data according to the test specification.
Application of test equipment to achieve best test results.
Signal conditioning and data analysis to provide results in the line with the specification and requirement.
Produce test reports.
Required skills:
Hopefully you will hold a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Similar Discipline
Knowledge of Vibration measurement associated with Rotating Machinery
Ideally you will have practical test engineering experience
Knowledge of Tip Timing measurement systems would be advantageous
The ability to provide technical support both within the laboratory and at customer sites

Salary Details Salary negotiable (cannot advertise I am sorry so please call to find)
Hours of Work 37 hours per week.(flexi-time)
Holiday Entitlement 25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays – agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
