Senior Water Engineer - Deeside
This civil engineering design role is based in an expanding team working on a 10 year contract delivering projects for AMP4 and AMP5 in the Dwr Cymru - Welsh Water Asset Management Alliance. The work will involve the design and implementation of process upgrades to existing WTWs. The Civil Engineer will be involved in all civil aspects of project delivery including initial design development; outline and detailed design, procurement and site liaison. The role will be part of an established integrated team and be involved in the conception to completion of each project. Principal duties and accountabilities will include:
- Developing cost effective solutions to a range of civil engineering problems and issues within specified timescales - Producing site plans, general arrangements of process plant structures, pipework design and gravity hydraulic calculations - Ensuring the civil design is completely integrated with the other design disciplines, but also takes account of buildability and H+S requirements - Frequent liaison with internal and external stakeholders at an appropriate level to ensure the civil design is communicated effectively Requirements Academic and professional qualifications: - HNC or HND Mechanical Engineering minimum qualification - Ideally Beng MICE - Broad range of civil engineering knowledge, design, specification writing and project implementation - Proven experience in the design of clean (or wastewater) treatment works. - Good appreciation of the other engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Electrical) - Structural design, gravity and pump Background and experience: Ideally with previous consultancy or contractor background within the water industry Design specification development preparation Sub-contract liaison and understanding the management and implementation of the chosen designs Working in integrated engineering project teams ideal Knowledge base:
