Job Purpose The main objective of this role is to support the Capital Manager to ensure the team meet the agreed Capital Business Plan targets for costs and outputs. You will also need to interface with customers where new projects impact on them. You will also need to direct Asset Management to deliver Capital investment plans within time and cost parameters set in the business plan. As well as this you be responsible for the Health and Safety under CDM 2007 for specific projects. You will also be investigating issues and vacancies as well as implementing any necessary remedial actions, so as to cause minimum impact on the companies performance ratings and key performance indicators. Other roles include: § Day to day decision making § Agreeing Asset investment contract target costs § Approval of capital projects § Developing close working relationships with teams Experience and Qualifications Knowledge and experience of the water industry, including the technical aspects of managing typical water assets. Knowledge and experience of Project, Cost and Contract Management.
Knowledge, experience and understanding of Partnering based contracts and relationship management; ability to lead multi-disciplined partnering teams to deliver major and minor projects. Ability to facilitate integrated investment and operational teams, such that they can successfully deliver capital investment projects, in an open, trusting and collaborative environment.
Qualified to Degree level, preferably in a mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering or Process discipline. Either chartered or working towards becoming chartered, would be an advantage. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, e.g. CDM2007. Key Relationships and Interactions Asset Investment and Operating Partners – to deliver the AMP4 capital programme and operational outputs. Asset Strategy and Performance and Quality – to ensure consistent application of the groups Policy and Strategy. External Regulators such as Environment Agency and Drinking Water Inspectorate – reporting and liaison on a wide range of issues. Local Authorities, MP's, Councillors - liaison and resolution on behalf of the group on any issues that may arise. Customers – liaison on behalf of the organisation on any issues that may arise.
