Are you an Engineer with design flair who enjoys undertaking architecturally interesting and structurally challenging projects of all sizes?
Our client's Cardiff office has a vacancy for a Senior Structural Engineer to deliver and manage their building projects.
Other responsibilities will include the management of structural engineering projects (capital cost up to £25m) or sections of larger projects, providing technological input and supervisory technical input by others and assisting in the preparation of offers.
You will need to effectively manage your own time which may be allocated to more than one project and you will also be expected to build client relationships and help identify business prospects.
You will have an Honours degree or equivalent in civil or structural engineering and ideally have Chartered membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
With solid postgraduate experience, which will include substantial project engineering experience including design, project management and some site supervision, you will have familiarity and experience of engineering design and drafting software, eg Autocad, FE Analysis Software, NBS, etc, and proficiency in the Microsoft suite of projects.
Experience of having managed a range of projects in varied market sectors and an acquired knowledge of a range of specialisms.
Multi-discipline commission experience would be beneficial as would the ability to work for varied and multiple clients on a consultancy basis with some experience in government and corporate sectors.
In addition to a sound analytical approach to structural design you should be capable of managing and delivering projects so as to achieve the client’s objectives to cost and programme.
You will be commercially aware and have a flexible attitude to both the type of work to be undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted, will have a strong customer focus, good organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
A full driving licence valid in the UK is essential.
This is a superb opportunity, which will present opportunities for short or long term secondments overseas, if desired.
A competitive salary will be offered, probably in the range of £30 - 40,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
