ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER / PROJECTS ENGINEER Responsibilities
To provide engineering services relating to the system design, machinery specification, procurement and installation of rotating equipment for specific capital projects, working in parallel with and supporting the site Rotating Equipment Engineer.
Job Tasks
-Input into scope reviews (understanding of process requirements/influence of equipment type). -Provision of budgetary estimates for machinery procurement. -Compiling of machinery enquiry package (RFQ), including Equipment and Driver Datasheets, document requirements etc., with a view to procuring equipment meeting process needs with the lowest Life Cycle Cost. -Approval/Issuing of RFQ to vendors (with admin / purchasing support) -Vendor discussions/clarifications -Vendor selection/agreement with internal customers. -Compiling of order package. -Approval/Issuing of PO to vendor (with admin / purchasing support) -Vendor discussions/clarifications, inc. drawing review/approval/circulation to project designers. -Preparation/issuing of design information needed by other disciplines. -Participation in plant design reviews, to ensure system meets equipment needs. -Facilitation of spares review with area engineer -Support of Vendor shop inspection activities, e.g., witness of mechanical run and performance testing for critical equipment. -Acceptance to site (including support of on-site QA checks) and support of on-site installation/commissioning activities. -Job close out, including issuing of all relevant documentation ready for archiving.

Knowledge and Experience
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering -Experience in the preparation of technical documentation for procurement of rotating machinery for chemical, oil and gas projects. -A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, possessing a good knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps (PD & Rotordynamic), screw compressors and fans. -Knowledge of international codes and standards for rotating machinery, including DIN, ANSI and API standards.
