Our client in Cardiff is seeking to appoint Consultant at Senior level to strengthen their Transport Planning business.
Reporting to a team leader and working within a team, you will support senior members of staff in delivering development and regeneration projects for both private and public sector clients, carry out project and task management, analysing, evaluating and appraising development planning problems and options.
You should have a degree or equivalent in transport or a related subject and have an appropriate level of relevant postgraduate experience in transport planning or other aspects of development planning (such as planning and urban design), preferably in a consultancy environment and including some relevant experience in project management together with specific experience in transport assessments, development control and planning, sustainable transport and travel plans AND / OR traffic modelling.
Also essential to the position is knowledge and understanding of the planning process and experience in at least some of the main traffic software programs e.g. ARCADY, OSCADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT, VISSIM and PARAMICS.
If you have knowledge / experience of several of the following, you would be at an advantage:
• Public and private sector projects.
• Client liaison experience.
• Liaison with urban planners, landscape architects and architects
• Bid preparation.
• Financial management.
• Professional membership of relevant institution.
• M.Sc or equivalent.
You should possess good commercial awareness and solid financial management ability and have a commitment to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients. Proven staff supervision skills and the ability to communicate to others the critical project issues are necessary attributes for the position as is the ability to think clearly, write high quality reports and keep factual records of projects.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £30 - 37,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
