Our client's Cardiff office requires a strong leader with excellent motivation skills to undertake the development and implementation of their strategy and business plan. You will also be expected to take responsibility for:
• Day to day management of the function group
• Recruitment, retention, staff development and succession planning
• Promote and champion the business strategy
• Promote and champion company systems
• Develop relationships with a range of clients to secure and deliver projects in accordance with the strategy and business plan
• Liaise with Key Account Managers
• Review bids and proposals
• Management of risk
• Health and safety for function group staff
• Review of project performance
• Where nominated by AD undertake the role of Project Director
• Liaise with Highway function groups in other offices
• Develop and maintain technical excellence through contribution to Professional Excellence Groups.
You will have a relevant engineering degree or equivalent, C.Eng, MICE and / or MIHT and will preferably have undertaken formal management training, e.g. PRINCE2.
Regarded as a technical expert in your relevant discipline, you will have significant experience in the delivery of projects and experience of local and Welsh Assembly Government working arrangements both as Employers Agent or with contractor clients as well as line management experience.
Experience of ECI and NEC forms of contract is also essential whilst any experience of developing new sales, bidding and work winning would be advantageous.
You will have first class communication and leadership skills and will want to pursue rewarding career.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £42 - 47,000 p.a., together with a flexible benefits package.
