My client is looking to expand their Bristol based Planning and Environmental Appraisal Team and recruit a senior terrestrial ecologist with bat survey skills in response to continued success in delivering high quality advice to clients in both the public and private sector.
With a relevant environmental or biology related degree you will typically be able to demonstrate extensive experience in applied ecology, conservation or EIA, together with experience of bat ecology and surveying and hold a current bat licence. This should include managing ecological projects; undertaking ecological impact assessments; writing the ecology chapters for ESs; and dealing with legally protected species. It would be desirable to have experience of Defra licensing for protected species, in biodiversity policy research, business development with private sector clients and in working with clients to help them meet their obligations and aspirations in a commercial environment.
You can expect to contribute to assessments of the terrestrial environment for a diverse range of projects, some of which will require EIA, as well as a range of catchment management studies, and strategic regulatory work.
