You will be joining an established EIA team within Environment Team in the Cardiff Office and you would be working with a wider range of specialists undertaking environmental assessments to produce environmental reports, management plans and statements. The Cardiff office has a wide range of skill groups which you would be working with on a daily basis. The Environment team is currently working on a wide range of public and private sector projects.
Key Objective The principal function of this position is to manage environmental assessment projects, including bids, feasibility studies & associated work. The role requires the candidate to manage and contribute to the content and production of environmental reports, including Environmental Statements, for a range of clients in a variety of markets, including: highways, flood defence, ports and property.
Key Responsibilities The priorities of this role include:
responsibility for the preparation of various aspects of environmental assessment work on a range of projects, including research, survey work and report writing; managing workloads and related tasks to meet prescribed timescales and budgets; maintaining good working relationships with internal & external clients; developing relationships with Environment Team; developing & maintaining a level of professional expertise by attending appropriate training & seminars to aid Continual Professional Development; and budgeting and financial control of projects.
You will possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge, aligned with the key areas of responsibility. Key requirements for the position include:
knowledge and experience in the management of the EIA process and its application to various projects in the UK; good organisational skills and appreciation of the broad range of technical disciplines associated with EIAs in the UK; good communication skills; effective team working; ability to use own initiative; capable of working with minimal supervision experience with highway schemes is advantageous; Batchelor degree (Masters preferred) in relevant subject (EIA).
