Landscape Manager - Cardiff
Job description
This is an exciting opportunity, and will lead to a long term management strategy to manage and enhance the soft estate within the highways boundary. The role will also include landscape assessment relating to new highways schemes and general asset management.
Reporting to a dedicated Environment Team Leader for the project, there will also be opportunities to integrate within other non-highways projects within the Cardiff and Bristol offices. Specific duties will include: •Undertake site surveys in support of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments •Analysis and development of landscape and environmental improvement schemes •Assist in the production of conceptual and detailed designs •Assist with design associated contract drawings, presentation drawings, schedules and specifications for landscape improvement schemes •Undertake research, administration and any other duties as required Candidate specification Essential: •First class degree •Post Graduate degree in a landscape related discipline •Experience of working within a consultancy environment •UK Driving license and willingness to travel in South Wales •The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external clients/contacts •Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and WebTag •Sound understanding of UK nature conservation legislation, regulation and administration Desirable: •Membership/affiliation of a relevant organisation, working towards Chartered status •Competency in the use of AutoCAD and Photoshop, with use of GIS systems such as Arcinfo also an advantage •Knowledge of EnVIS
