The Cardiff office covers the South Wales area from Pembrokshire to Monmouthshire and north to include Powys. The office provides engineering consultancy services to include highways, railways, civil, structural and geo-environmental engineering.

Our Welsh based environmental consultancy business is growing steadily in response to high demand from infrastructure and energy sectors. We now have a need for a Team Leader/Manager to drive the business forward, as well as provide services including environmental impact assessment, landscape and ecological management.

Job description

The successful candidate will take responsibility within the framework of our overall UK environmental business, for business development, project and programme management, staff development, and technical leadership.

The position will involve development and management of work such as:

• Environmental impact assessment, particularly for infrastructure projects
• Ecological studies in the context of the Habitats Regulations, DMRB, EnVIS and ArcMap.
• Landscape Assessments.
• Project Management
• Proposal preparation
• Team management and staff development

Candidate specification

Essential:

• A BSc degree in a core environmental science or environmental engineering or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience including from within an environmental consultancy and in team leadership
• An excellent track record in environmental business development
• A sound understanding of Welsh, UK and EU environmental legislation, regulation and administration
• The ability to coordinate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external clients/contacts
• Driving licence and willingness to travel throughout South Wales

Desirable:

• Previous experience of leading a design team
• Experience in Wales, particularly in the transportation sector
