My client is one of the world's leading Engineering / Infrastructure Consultancies employing more than 9,000 people in 250 offices across the world, with expertise in a huge range of activities they can offer outstanding opportunities to develop and progress your career. They have an immediate requirement for an environmental scientist to join their Environment group in Cardiff. This full time permanent position is within the Environmental Management group and the main focus of work will be Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Although the role is based in Cardiff, opportunities will exist to work on projects throughout the UK and overseas.
Requirements:
You will have a minimum of a first degree in Environmental Science and relevant EIA consultancy experience, ideally with some experience in EIA for highways and other transportation projects. Good written English and a full UK driving license are essential as is good team leadership and EIA project management skills.
The role will be one of project managing EIA projects and the ability to offer expertise in a one particular area of EIA would be advantageous (ecology, air quality, noise, water etc). Experience of Highways Agency EIA, urban regeneration, waste infrastructure or international projects would be particularly relevant. The successful candidate will also be involved in the marketing and sales of EIA services and as such a track record in such areas (IEMA membership, EIA Practitioner status) would be considered useful. Personal attributes: responsible and friendly, hard working, flexible and with a desire to progress within the organisation. Language skills, particularly French, would also be favorable.
