Key Responsibilities
1. Providing drafting solutions for bridges, building structures, drainage and other line side supporting structures
2. Working within an established team in the production of design calculations
3. Assessing the load carrying capacity of existing bridges in a wide range of materials, including prestressed and reinforced concrete, steel; and historic materials/construction methods such as cast iron, wrought iron and masonry arches
4. Assisting Project Managers in the programming and financial management of projects
5. Working with interdisciplinary project teams in the delivery of designs for railway station enhancements and rail improvements
6. Actively seek innovation and service improvements
Key Requirements
• Proficient in Auto CAD
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
EXPERIENCE
• Good working knowledge and experience of Auto CAD
• Have an intuitive understanding of the behaviour of structures
• Aware of commercial constraints on projects and experience of working to timescales and budgets
• Able to undertake work within established routines and technical principles
• Experience of construction through design
• Good working knowledge of the design process and relevant standards within a quality assured environment
