My client is a leading rail contractor with their own in house design team is seeking to employ a Design Engineer (Civil) to be based in their York office.
You will take a central role in the development of design projects within the internal design department, and will be required to work on the structures framework, liaising closely with Network Rail.
The main responsibilities will:
Provide design services on the maintenance and renewal of civil engineering structures within the London to North East (LNE) Framework
Assist in the development and review of design/assessment spreadsheets and calculation templates for use within the Internal Design Department
Assist the Senior Design Engineer in the execution of specific delegated tasks during times of absence
Be the Design Department Representative at project and Progress meetings as required
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience in the design of civil engineering structures
Hold an awareness of Safety, Health & Environment requirements
Have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification
Boast a strong knowledge & understanding of the design process
Be fully competent and have extensive experience in the production of construction related drawings
Have excellent communication skills
Be a team player
Hold a full Drivers License (preferred)
