Our client is looking for an experienced engineer to report to the Structures Team Leader and based in their Exeter Office. Theyrequire an Incorporated/Chartered Engineer with approximately 10 years relevant experience to assist the design team leader to develop a team of Graduates and Technicians to prepare design and assessment calculations, technical reports and project documents.
Key Accountabilities:
• Identify and apply appropriate methodologies and standards to produce effective and innovative solutions for both improvement schemes and studies.
• Act as a mentor to junior staff for all technical matters relating to the design and / or assessment of highway structures.
• Assistance with preparing design/assessment calculations, technical reports, drawings and tender/contract documents
• Assistance with preparation required for the Value Management of Structures schemes.
• Maintain good relations with the Client and other authorities, attending meetings as necessary.
• Work within Structures team to enable effective delivery of schemes and studies.
• Liaise with Highway Design Engineers, Traffic Engineers and Principal Safety Engineer to co-ordinate structural elements within hybrid schemes.
• Liaise with Construction Manager to enable Early Contractor Involvement approach to all schemes, checking buildability and practical input to design solutions for improvement schemes and studies.
