A Bridge Engineer is required by our client's busy bridges team, based in Wiltshire.
The team is involved in a wide range of projects associated with bridges and highway structures including detailed design and scheme preparation, as well as assessment and site inspection works.
You will be engaged either as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team working on large projects, or independently, managing small / medium sized projects and your responsibilities will include undertaking design of bridge and structural design projects, as well as organising and undertaking site inspections as necessary, ensuring compliance to appropriate design and health & safety standards as required and dealing with clients, internal and external project managers
Ideally, you will have or will be approaching Chartered status (Civil or Structural) and will have extensive bridge experience, which must include practical experience of the inspection of all types of bridge structures and recent experience of rail bridge design or assessment, whilst experience of Design & Construct either as part of designer or contractor teams would be advantageous.
You will also be computer literate (MS Office, structural analysis software), will have the ability to work under your own initiative to achieve targets and meet deadlines and will have the potential to take on a management role in supervising less experienced team members.
Our client will offer extensive training, both 'on-the-job' and through courses.
A competitive salary, probably in the range of £27 - 34,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package will be offered.
