Nuclear Safety Engineer vacancy working in the Nuclear industry for a leading global engineering consultancy based in Bristol. About the Role: Opportunities exist for Nuclear Safety Engineers to join our client's team focusing on power generation; you'll assess the safety of processes with nuclear power stations. This will call upon all your experience in nuclear power plant operation, reactor physics or radiological protection, as well as your engineering degree. You will be responsible for providing project support and participating in the production of nuclear safety documentation including undertaking: * Hazard/fault identification studies e.g. HAZOP, FMEA * Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard assessments * Accident sequence modelling assessments, safety management studies * The provision of support to Engineering Substantiation studies * Safety Case preparation The role will also involve providing support to proposal preparation for nuclear related projects. About You: You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience: * Suitable scientific or engineering degree * Chartered status or equivalent preferred * Sound technical or engineering background * Significant post-graduate working knowledge in the nuclear industry working in a nuclear safety environment * Knowledge and understanding of nuclear safety legislation including site licensing requirements * Management of and assistance in the preparation of nuclear safety documentation * Knowledge of one or more of a range of nuclear plant including reactor, nuclear fuel cycle processes, waste storage and reprocessing * Project Management experience would be an advantage * Good communication and presentational skills * Experience of liaising directly with clients * Ability to work alone or as part of a team * Ability to recognise and assist in the development of business opportunities * You will need to be in a position to attain an appropriate level of UK security clearance The Company: Our client is one of the world's largest multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies.
