A leading international consultancy with an annual Group turnover in excess of £200 million are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on a variety of infrastructure projects.

The chosen candidate will be working on their Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) AMP4 framework and in particular working within the Cost Management function of the AMP4 Asset Management Alliance’s (AMA) four regional delivery teams.

The role involves being responsible for the cost management of a number of schemes in and around the region, working in a partnering environment with a variety of contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities:

• Full cost planning of projects.
• To cost manage projects from feasibility, approval production and target cost agreement through to completion and final accounting.
• Cost forecasting and reporting.
• To gain the confidence of the client and become the focal point for communication.
• Effective communication ensuring all information is available for the successful completion of projects, to liase with other managers and partners to ensure efficient financial control resulting in projects being cost effective.
• Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner, meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients and other team members forming a strong working relationship in true partnership.
• To liaise with other managers to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing both the quality and profitability of the service.
• To ensure that senior management have quality information on the progress of each project on a regular basis.

Skills / Experience Required:

• Effective communication skills
• Negotiating and influencing skills
• Demonstrable achievement of targets / goals
• Ability to work in a team / partnering environment
• Ability to deliver pre and post contract services
• Candidates with Water experience would be ideal. However, any good infrastructure experience may suffice with Actual Cost/Target Cost contract experience in a Partnering environment.
• The motivation and eagerness to succeed and become an integral member of the company
