Due to our client's ongoing growth, they have a requirement for a Senior Planner to join their enthusiastic, dynamic and expanding team and work on a wide variety of highway schemes, including all levels of the road hierarchy and the consideration of all types of road user.

You will undertake a project manager role and responsibilities will include project management without supervision, which will include financial monitoring and control, allocation and monitoring of resources, drawing up and delivering project programmes and direct liaison with clients on technical, programme and financial issues.

With responsibility for the technical content of projects and the commercial arrangements, specific responsibilities will include evaluation of transport planning and engineering problems, presentation of project outcomes and / or effective solutions, preparation of outline and detailed designs, production of cost estimates and preparation of specifications and tender documents.

You will be degree qualified or appropriate equivalent and will preferably have a transport related M.Sc and / or Professional Chartership / Membership of a relevant institution.

With sufficient or appropriate experience, some of which must have been spent in the UK transport planning market (local authority, trunk road/motorway, developer), you will possess extensive experience of traffic management, junction assessment / design and / or traffic signal assessment/design.

Project management, staff supervision and client liaison experience are also essential.

Experience / knowledge of SEVERAL of the following will be an advantage:

• UK Local Authority background.
• UK Transport Planning market.
• Highway Design.
• Planning Control.
• Traffic and Network Management.
• Capacity Assessment.
• Data Collection / Management / Monitoring.
• Traffic Signal Design.
• Traffic Regulation Orders.
• Software – ARCADY, OSCADY, TRANSYT, PICADY, LINSIG etc

You will be a good communicator who has excellent interpersonal skills, good client management ability leading to long term working relationships and who is able to offer solid technical leadership in assisting other staff in developing their technical skills and knowledge.

Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of 30 - 37,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
