Operations Manager required by a large national company based at their North Bristol office. Dealing specifically with the Highways, both planned and reactive maintenance and pre planned construction work. You will be running the Networks Maintenance Team.

The person they are looking for will be expected to carry out the following;
• Maintain close relations with the Maintenance Engineer, Agents and Supervisors regarding utilisation of labour, plant and materials • Aid the Maintenance Engineer and Agents in programming the works to ensure timely completion and monitor progress. Where necessary, instructing changes or corrections to such programmes in liaison with the Area Planner • Ensure completed works are measured and recorded • Ensure liaison and communication with sub-contractors takes place at tender and works commencement stages • Ensuring that the construction of the works is carried out effectively and economically and in accordance with the contract requirements for Best Value • Ensure records relating to Health, Safety and Environment performance for the area are forwarded to the MSER at the beginning of each month • Ensure that the Maintenance Engineer has adequate resources of labour, plant and materials and that they are available when required and are used effectively • Ensure that all materials used are reconciled on a weekly basis, receive materials and control their storage and avoid wastage of materials • Ensure that allocation sheets are coded in accordance with the Area 2 EMAC financial system • Monitor and record the standard of work and inform the Area Manager of any instances of non-conformity that cannot easily be resolved • Ensure COSHH assessments are undertaken for materials which are hazardous to health and check that exposure is in line with the assessments. Ensure that staff are briefed on the COSHH assessments of materials they will be using • Act as deputy when line manager unavailable
You will need to have the ability to develop and disseminate programmes as well as communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff and clients.
You will need to have a clear understanding of the Highways Industry as well as a very clear understanding of the EMAC ethos.
