Our client has an urgent requirement for an exceptional individual to join their Bristol office and provide support to senior members of staff in delivering projects for both private and public sector clients. Your duties will include the following:
• Project, task and resource management.
• Allocate tasks to the project team, check and monitor their work.
• Ensure that project work is carried out within agreed timescales and budget.
• Analyse, evaluate and appraise development planning problems and options.
• Develop good relationships with existing and new clients and partners in order to increase and enhance business.
• Develop new business leads and an awareness of potential commercial opportunities.
• Support the business unit manager to identify and agree resourcing requirements.
• Identify project-driven office recruitment and training needs.
• Assist the unit’s less experienced staff in developing their technical skills and knowledge.
You will be degree qualified or equivalent in transport planning or similar and will have an appropriate level of relevant postgraduate experience in transport planning or other aspects of development planning (such as planning and urban design), preferably in a consultancy environment some of which must have been spent in project management.
Client liaison experience.
Specific experience in transport assessments, development control, sustainable transport and travel plans AND / OR traffic modelling is essential as is knowledge and understanding of the planning process and experience in at least some of the main traffic software programs, such as ARCADY, OSCADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT, VISSIM and PARAMICS.
You will also need some experience in bid preparation and financial management.
If you have an M.Sc or equivalent, experience of public and private sector projects, liaison experience with urban planners, landscape architects and architects AND / OR professional membership of a relevant institution (preferably Chartered) you will be at an advantage.
You will possess good commercial awareness and solid financial management ability, will be able to demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients and will have proven staff supervision skills with the ability to communicate to others the critical project issues.
Our client will offer a generous salary, probably in the range of £36 - 42,000 p.a., together with an attractive benefits package.
