Deputy Construction Manager required by a large national company based at their North Bristol office. Dealing specifically with the Highways, both planned and reactive maintenance and pre planned construction work. The successful candidate will have good reporting skills, as well as an ability to motivate and generate trust. You will also need to be capable of communicating effectively with clients, designers, suppliers and contractors. A full driving licence and a willingness to be mobile is also essential.

The person they are looking for will be expected to carry out the following;
In conjunction with the Technical Manager and the Scheme Delivery Managers, you will allocate responsibility for; projects in design, advice on buildability, construction (which contractors and sub-contractors) and construction management on site • Provide advice to the design teams on buildability issues • Provide advice to the Project Manager regarding requests for roadspace (and co-ordination if necessary) • Monitor programmes of all in-year schemes and ensure roadspace is available and respected • Ensure delivery of schemes under construction to agreed cost and programme • Risk assessment and management prior to and during construction • Health and Safety on site as well as interaction for CDM purposes • Monitoring of performance and reporting to Performance Manager • Certificate of Works, Final Accounts, interim applications etc • Compliance with IQMS • Management, organisation and monitoring of Construction Management Team (20 people approximately) as well as key supply chain partners • To seek innovation in delivery and techniques used
