An opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Signals Engineer for a period of 6 – 15 months, working on major Olympic projects in the Highways and Transportation Department.
As a Traffic Signals Engineer, your role will consist of: Undertaking a full range of design and works supervision of traffic signals and associated works. Managing the technical activities of other staff and assist with staff training. Implementing and monitoring project programmes. Working to agreed financial and time scaled targets. Preparing fee estimates and tenders for projects. Liaising with Consultants, Partners, District Councils and Elected Members. Attending Public and Client meetings.
To be a successful Traffic Signals Engineer, you will have: BTEC Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent. AutoCAD City and Guilds Level 3 or above. Experience of designing interlinked signalised junctions and bus priority systems using software such as AutoCAD Key Signals, Scoot/ UTC, MOVA, LINSIG and TRANSYT. A detailed knowledge of traffic signal and highway design standards, techniques and procedures. Able to instruct junior staff. Significant experience of producing traffic signals designs and drawings. Extensive experience of working in the Signal Control and road construction industry.
