This successful UK consultancy has an opportunity to join the busy Bristol or Cardiff office.
You will be required to: Undertake Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) /Sustainability Appraisals (SA) for a range of high profile government, local government and private sector clients. This will include managing the production of and significant technical input into SEAs and SAs including tasks such as developing methodologies, providing advice to clients, baseline data collection and analysis, plans review, development of SEA/SA frameworks, assessment and mitigation proposals and monitoring frameworks. Preparation of draft and finalised reports and other documents as required.
You will need to have: An excellent working knowledge of the SEA Directive and Regulations and UK planning systems. Particular skills are required in SA for local and regional planning, notably Local Development Frameworks and Local Development Plans. To this end, a sound knowledge of social and economic impacts and their interactions with environmental impacts is essential. Other sector experience could include water, energy, waste, transport and regeneration. Have established client relationships with major infrastructure providers/groups (government & private). Client liaison and public exhibition/inquiry experience would be useful. Bidding and marketing would be required although would not be a major requirement.
The following would be desirable:
Experience in both England and Wales. Have wider environmental management and assessment experience, such as working experience in the production of EIAs for a range of infrastructure projects including highways and renewables projects. Experience in any of the following: Health Impact Assessment, Social impact Assessment, Planning, Appropriate Assessment, Enviro-economics, Eco-Homes Assessment. Experience of facilitating and attending consultation events and workshops for SEAs.
