Our client are one of the UK's leading multi-specialist consultancy companies, bringing engineering, planning and scientific skills and experience together to deliver sustainable development and infrastructure projects worldwide. They have a number of offices based around the UK and they are currently looking to recruit a Graduate in Air Quality to join their Acoustics & Air Quality services team. This team assesses the impact of new developments on local air quality. This may involve discussing the project with the environmental health department of the local authority, collating a range of existing data to understand the current air quality in the areas, modelling the impact, assessing how significant it is, and if required, recommending outline mitigation measures. The projects they have recently worked on range from an open cast coal mine and Europe's largest granite quarry to an energy from waste plant to a proposed high rise residential development in the centre of London, and a large urban extension in the Midlands. The team is also responsible for undertaking climate change assessments of new developments, and if it involves a high rise building, micro-climate assessment. The latter include daylight, sunlight and wind assessments. You will be required to undertake site visits, monitor air quality and use simple screening and more complex dispersion models. Our client provide significant opportunity for career progression, excellent training and development programmes as well as exposure to stimulating broad ranging project work. They offer a competitive salary and flexible benefits package, which includes contributory pension plan, profit related bonus and flexible benefits allowance.
