Our client is one of the leading Environmental Consultancies within the UK. They are currently looking to recruit an Environmental Scientist for their office based in Bradford on Avon. Working for this consultancy your principal role will be to provide support to the preparation of EIA and SEA of infrastructure projects, primarily water and energy sectors.
Your key duties will include baseline environmental data collection, consultation with Statutory and key consultees and production of consultation documents and management of responses. You will be responsible for the input to the production of EIA Screening and Scoping documents and the input to the environmental appraisal of projects and strategies. You should have an interest in  and knowledge of field ecology, as you will be assisting on field ecological surveys and writing ecological reports and memos.
The successful candidate should have a BSc in an environmentally-related discipline and a commitment to continuous professional development and attainment of chartered status. Ideally you will also have an MSc in an environmental area and have work experience in an environment related field, with a working knowledge of EIA techniques.
You should have a theoretical understanding of environmental impact assessment and its application to the permitting of major projects and a theoretical understanding of strategic environmental assessment and its application to strategy development. Ideally you will also have experience or knowledge of field ecology and protected species surveys.
