What is the Role?
As a senior engineer, you will be involved in the expansion of an existing team within the Bristol area. The team are currently working on a number of design projects, all at different completion of the life cycle. The building projects currently include schools, large-scale hospitals and 15-20 storey office buildings located in London.
The team are also currently bidding for Law Courts, such as Magistrate buildings and law courts, which the company are expecting to win. It is possible to see from this diverse range of projects that this role offers you the opportunity to expand on your design knowledge. The companies projects are both privately and publicly funded, and therefore the diverse range of design work will continue to be bid for.
The reason for the team being expanded in Bristol is due to the current bidding the company have for a Governmental project. This project will require many senior engineers, with much experience in building structures. Therefore the company are willing to look at both contract and permanent staff. The main responsibility of the senior staff will be hands on design, however you will also be needed to lead a team. As the company plans to continually expand the team, you will be needed to be able to control and develop during and with the teams development. Why should I apply?
The projects on offer from the company range from large to small, and are both public and private. The amount of projects worked upon per branch is an impressive number, and therefore this vacancy allows for much design experience to be gained. Once this large governmental project, which the company are currently bidding for, is won, the company are planning on recruiting quickly. Therefore, are willing to consider both Permanent and Contract staff – Permanent preferred. The fact that they are keen to employ staff means that this position could be a good chance for an engineer looking to ‘step up’ their responsibilities to senior level.

A likely candidate will be have a strong academic background and achieved Chartered status. However, due to the large need that the company will have in their Bristol branch; they are willing to consider those who can show workable progression towards achieving chartered status.
Due to the diverse range of projects on offer, you will need to have many years experience within the UK, working on a range of building structures, throughout all the lifecycle of the project. On site work experience is also required, such as inspection and assessment of existing structures.
Those candidates who have previous experience running and leading a team will be preferred, as much of this role includes the guidance of junior staff and technicians.
