Job Title: Process Engineers Salary: £35k Location: Exeter, Devon Start date: ASAP Our client is the premier manufacturer of components for the jet aircraft, gas turbine and other advanced-technology industries. They are currently looking for a Process Engineer to join their friendly engineering team in Devon. The main purpose of the role is to develop, implement and maintain all process engineering activities, to reduce the process related scrap, and to technically support production of high quality castings to customer’s requirement.
Skills Required:
Min HNC in Materials/Design/Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent Min 3 years relevant engineering work experience (manufacturing, wax molding, casting automotive, aerospace, dimensions, turbine, blades) Knowledge of Design/Drawing/Dimensioning/Sizing Knowledge of layout and alignment principals /tolerance literacy Ability to interpret microstructures for defect analysis and material qualification Knowledge of problem solving tools (FMEA or equivalent). Good statistical understanding (SPC/Process Capability/Gauge R+R). Knowledge of Tool-making processes. Knowledge of automation systems. Good communication/interpersonal skills Excellent organizational, planning, scheduling and coordinating skills Ability to prepare and write reports/quotations Computer Literate
The role involves:
Supervise minimally Process engineering activities on multiple Aero/IGT blades and vanes Qualify the robust metallurgical sound processes as required per the client Review product design related to compliance, standards, specifications and customer requirements (materials and processes) Coordinate Engineering activities and organize project staff related to project requirements and engineering metallurgical issues Produce, review and approve internal qualification reports. Troubleshoot manufacturing problems Work on cost reduction and method improvement projects Complete root cause analysis and implement root cause fixes. Cost reduction and method improvement projects. Identify significant and insignificant process changes and develop a structure for their implementation where necessary. Act as a liaison between the company and the client Report to the Process Engineering Manager for all the changes implemented.
