Operations Manager - knowledge of the metals industry - experience of Project Management as a Senior Project Manager - relevant industrial experience - based Christchurch, Dorset or Sheffield - salary £50 - 60K
We are looking for an Operations Manager with knowledge of the metals industry for a company that is one of the world's leading engineering and plant building companies for the international metals industry.
The Operations Manager (Metals Industry) will need to have had experience of Project Management at Senior Project Manager Level or above and industrial experience in a related field
As well as Project Management experience, candidates for the position of Operations Manager (Metals Industry) will need to have knowledge of relevant technology and products. Knowledge of the metals industry is preferred and experience of working with a wide range of customers is essential.
Reporting to the CEO the role of Operations Manager will be to combine, manage and steer the Order Management functions of the company including Project Management, Health & Safety and Quality Management
Day to day tasks for the Operations Manager will include -
* Steering the Project Management process for the entire company
* Undertaking regular project reviews in terms of budget containment and project timescales.
* Providing monthly status reports for all projects, highlighting matters of concern and analysis of budget variances.
* Monitoring resource planning for all activities
* Providing support to Pre-Projects and Sales, including the review of Pre-Project cost estimates for project management.
* Ensuring staff are focussed and motivated in their jobs and that their personal progress is monitored and guided.
* Undertaking annual appraisals of staff.
All candidates for the position of Operations Manager will need to have a current Driving Licence and passport and be able to travel both nationally and internationally, possibly at short notice
