Our client's Bristol office requires a Geotechnical Engineer to lead medium scale geotechnical projects and assist on larger projects.

You will enjoy working on a wide portfolio of projects and duties will include:

• Geotechnical assessment and design.
• Design of Phase I and Phase II investigations, including taking client brief, developing contracts and specifications.
• Lead and mentor less experienced members of the team.
• Technical sales
• Provide support to the Principal Geotechnical Engineer in bid preparation and tender designs.

You will have a good first degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or an Applied Geoscience e.g. Engineering Geology, Applied Geology) and preferably have an M.Sc in Soils Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.

Experience in a comparable role with a site investigation or Civils contractor is necessary as is demonstrable experience in design and delivery of Phase I and Phase II investigations, knowledge of NHBC standards and derivation of design parameters from SI data.

You will also have experience in the design of foundations, retaining walls, basements, remedial earthworks and ground improvement and expert knowledge of SLOPE/ W , WALLOP, gINT, Pile design and analysis of pile groups, VDISP and related geotechnical software.

Solid commercial management skills and the ability to work on your own initiative within a supportive environment of similar professionals are required.

Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £25 - 30,000 p.a., together with an attractive benefits package.
