Our client, a leading Energy Engineering specialist is looking to recruit Design Engineers to be based at their South West office.
Ideally you will have experience in Electrical or/and Mechanical Design within the thermal power or wider experience within the oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear or other heavy industries.
KEY DUTIES
Conduct detailed design work on steel structures and electrical systems.
Conduct verification of subcontractor design work, such as calculations, computer models and drawings.
Estimation of bills of quantities and site surveys in response to client enquiries.
Work with branch and HQ engineers, site installation and proposal teams from client enquiry through to project implementation regarding mechanical design aspects.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Knowledge and understanding of HV, MV and LV system design codes.
Knowledge and of HS&E legislation related to products and services.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000 series and Quality standards related to products and services.
Effective application of product codes and standards
Effective communications skills & report writing
Effective document management
PC and AutoCAD skills
Knowledge of STAAD or similar steelwork design tools advantageous.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical design engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
HND Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with design components
Engineering Council Registered Engineer
