An excellent Defence related role for an RF Design Engineer. A sound knowledge of electronics and RF sensor and surveillance systems from a technology perspective is required. Systems analysis and project management expertise would be beneficial.
Primary Role: To conduct research and provide practical leading advice on the development and performance of novel RF sensor systems. This role will directly support information gathering activities carried out by MoD.
You are required to have a sound working knowledge of electronics, RF sensor systems/technology and an ability to assess and predict the likely performance of RF sensors/technology.
The Electronic Surveillance (ES) Detection Team engages in research to develop and prove novel ES technologies and systems, often in compressed timescales for technical demonstrations and to meet operational commitments.
Educational & Experience Requirements Essential: 1. A degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline; knowledge of electronics and RF sensors or closely related technical disciplines. 2. The job requires innovation in addressing technical and management challenges, networking and creation of virtual teams. 3. The job holder would be required to attend meetings and trials across the UK and abroad, to manage structured work programmes involving complex and/or multiple projects, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable: 1. Experience in specific ES systems. 2. A strong interest in state-of-the-art sensor and ISTAR systems technology and their application to existing or planned research and procurement; 3. An understanding of project management principles and experience of project or research management.
