A superb opportunity for an electronic engineer to work with a defence and aerospace client in the South West. You will show experience of both Analogue and Digital design, test and verification. You should also show experience in a customer facing role.
Job Summary To undertake requirements capture, design, development, test and production support of electronics within the Avionics hardware group. To design and document analogue and digital circuits in accordance with defined requirements specifications and using departmental design assurance processes.
Key responsibilities - Bid Support - Requirements capture and requirements validation - System design support - Architectural design support - Design and development following the Product Introduction Process - Test and verification activities - Production Support - Process development support - Fault finding and problem resolution of legacy products - Provide accurate costs to complete and carry out tasks within these estimates - Honest reporting of progress and early warning of risks and potential problems
Experience required - Hardware design skills. This should include experience of the complete design life cycle including interpretation of requirements specifications, design, development, debugging, documentation, design proving and certification - Awareness and appreciation of RTCA/DO-254 - Experience of the military avionics industry - Experience of keeping designs and documentation under formal configuration control using lifecycle management tools, e.g. SmarTeam, AllChange - Experience of using requirement management tools e.g. Cradle (similar to DOORS) - Experience of CAD packages: CADSTAR, ModelSim/VHDL, LTSpice, Timing Designer - Self-motivated with ability to plan out own work
Qualifications required - Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline - Post-graduate experience in engineering
