An excellent opportunity for an experienced Analogue Design Engineer within a leading aerospace client. You will ensure best practice is applied to circuit designs for Analogue and PSU products. Some Defence work so Security Clearance will be required.
The role involves all aspects of complex Analogue and PSU design and development including key project work. You will be expected to provide both direction and development in your area to others against both technical and individual requirements. A key aspect being to monitor and improve on 'Best Practice' procedures currently adopted by the market and internally, including regulatory standards, ensuring they are applied as appropriate by all relevant functions
Responsibilities - To develop design techniques, procedures and practices in area of speciality - Ensure best practice is applied to circuit designs and layout across all Analogue and PSU designs for units and modules as appropriate - Provide technical leadership, developing individual and personal skills with both direct and indirect reportables - Audit existing engineering procedures and standards, identifying improvement initiatives, then manage their implementation and follow through - Be closely involved in the Design Review Process ensuring ongoing monitoring and sign-off in areas of specialty. - Lead and develop selected improvement project teams, involving design techniques, procedures and practices, ensuring time scales and costs are met
The Person - You will need to have either Principal Engineer status or higher - Demonstrable up to date experience of multiplexed and absolute instrumentation - Proven experience of Analogue design over -55oC , + 125oC, Control Systems, Magnetic Design, Control Loop Theory - PSU design experience to meet stringent EMC, Thermal, Vibration, Density & Input voltage variation requirements - A strong team leader, capable of motivating and developing both direct and indirect staff, including mentoring juniors when appropriate - Able to adopt a hands-on, flexible approach and be results driven - Ideally with an aerospace background, you may also have experience of design Backlight drivers, Power Factor Corrected PSU's, or the reduction of harmonic emissions from AC supplies. - The role is a full-time position and the appropriate salary grade will be based on experience.
