Our client is a multinational motor drives manufacturer with a design location in the South of England who is seeking to strengthen his design team.
Qualification:- Likely to hold Degree or post grad qualification.
Skills able:- To design with 1200V IGBT devices from 10 to 100A, when applied in industrial products switching between 2kHz to 10kHz.
Experience Design of inverter power stages for the control of ac motors from 1kW to 100kW.
The engineer will require a comprehensive knowledge of the theory and practice relating to the operation of industrial variable speed drives or similar power electronic products.
He/she must understand the design constraints when applying IGBTs, with regard to temperature, mechanical layout, switching frequency, short circuit proof operation, EMI.
He/she should be able to demonstrate design optimisation with regard to price, performance and reliability.
