Electrical Site Manager vacancy working for one of the UK's leading service providers to the utilities industry based in Thornbury, Nr Bristol, South West England (will be site based at various locations so must be flexible and available to travel). Do you want to be involved in one of the UK's largest utilities projects working for a leading, utilities service provider? About you: You will have experience of managing the delivery of HV electrical aspects of the construction and refurbishment of substations, associated switchgear and transformers. The role: To undertake Electrical Site Management duties on the delivery of new build and refurbishment of substations throughout South West England and the South West. The Project: The National Grid is one of the world's largest utilities, focused on delivering energy safely, reliably, responsibly and efficiently. The company owns the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales, which includes some 4,500 miles of overhead lines and around 340 substations with the majority of assets operating at 400 or 275 kV.
The Electricity Alliance contracts commenced in March 2007 and will run for an initial five year period until 2012 with a potential five year extension. The Alliance involves the whole supply chain and takes into consideration the total life of the assets to ensure efficient and sustainable delivery with a strong emphasis on safety by design.
