Job Summary
You will be providing electrical design engineering expertise on single and multi disciplinary projects - both new build and refurbishment projects for the public and private sector.
Working in a multidisciplinary team of building services engineers providing a comprehensive design service to our clients.
This is a great opportunity for a design engineer to work on several large scale new build projects in the Bristol and Cardiff areas and to develop their career within an internationally renowned consultancy.

Responsibilities
Electrical building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision
Work with and assist Senior M&E Engineers
Carrying out design calculations on a variety of buildings within different sectors i.e. schools, offices, leisure facilities, Government buildings, industrial etc
Preparing technical specifications
Preparing drawings for drafting by our in-house CAD team
Representing Atkins at meetings with clients and contractors
Site surveys and inspections
Report writing
Maintaining records and archives to company standards
Manage own workload
Monitor site works.





Requirements
qualified with a degree or equivalent with IEng or CEng potential
Similar knowledge working in a design consultancy, with knowledge of concept, scheme and detail across a range of sectors
Knowledge gained within a Contractor environment is additionally welcome
An appreciation of quality assurance, safety and environmental sustainability
Good level of computer literacy in Windows, Hevacomp, NES and Microsoft packages - an understanding of AutoCAD is beneficial
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
Good report writing skills, knowledge of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential.
As part of the selection process for this role, candidates will be required to attain an appropriate level of UK security clearance.
